Tip-Based Tour

  • 2 hours
  • Trackside Studios

Service Description

For years, the River Arts District or "RAD," has been a popular spot for visitors; however, many guests arrive asking: "What do we do once we arrive?" This tour hits the highlights and provides you with a hands-on RAD experience you will not forget and you pay what you want in the end! Starting at Trackside Studios we walk down Depot Street to learn about the history of the RAD, the artists and visit ONE gallery. We will stop at the historical Grey Eagle Music Venue and taste Taqueria snacks! We will view glass blowing demonstrations at the NC Glass Center, then walk alongside the river, learning stories about the legends of the French Broad as well as a list of activities you can do on the river post-tour! 2pm tours finish on Foundy Street to learn all about the graffiti that covers the walls and the creative local businesses. Throughout the tour, I will be providing insider tips on the best places to eat, drink and play for the best prices, including the places where locals hang out for free! On the afternoon tour, we will end the tour outside of Pleb Urban Winery where guests will have the option to go to Pleb for a glass of wine or the Wedge Brewery for a beer with specials offered only to our tour guests! ~3 miles In the morning tour (shorter ) we will taste some gelato and end at cotton mill! ~2 miles
